1. What InfoTrail is

InfoTrail is a personal organization tool. It lets you record which organizations you believe hold types of your personal information, and track your own progress updating that information after an event. It is a record-keeping and checklist tool.

2. What InfoTrail is not

• We do not verify what information any organization actually holds. Your records reflect what you enter.
• We do not contact organizations, change information on your behalf, or guarantee that anyone will act on your request.
• Any guidance we provide about updating your information is for convenience, may be out of date, and is not professional, legal, or financial advice.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 16 to use InfoTrail and provide a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account. During the private beta, access requires an invitation, and features may change or be withdrawn.

4. Your content, and what not to put in it

You own the data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process it for the sole purpose of operating the service.

Do not enter actual sensitive values — card numbers, government identification numbers, passwords — anywhere in InfoTrail, including notes. The service is designed to work without them, and we actively block entries that look like real card or identification numbers. If you record information describing another person, you are responsible for having their permission.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Free and paid subscriptions are described on our pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe, monthly or annually, plus applicable taxes. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Your statutory rights under Ontario consumer protection law are unaffected. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change, applying from your next renewal. If you downgrade, your data remains intact but becomes read-only above the free plan limits — we never delete your records because of a billing change.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use InfoTrail unlawfully, or to stalk, surveil, or profile another person;
• attempt to access another account or circumvent our security;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute the service;
• reverse engineer it, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for deletion timelines. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data where circumstances allow.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your records are accurate or complete — they are your records, as you entered them.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act.

10. Changes to these terms

We will email account holders at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use InfoTrail after that date means you accept the revised terms. Previous versions remain available on request.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, without limiting any non-waivable right you have to bring a claim locally.
